Thank you to our community for raising £150.00 for the Royal British Legion for the Remembrance Sunday 2025.

On Thursday 6th of June Parish Councillors Arana, Robertshaw, Cotton, Underwood and invited guests joined the staff and pupils at Lees Primary School to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the D Day Landings.
A minutes silence was held before singing the National Anthem followed by a fabulous fish and chip lunch.
It was a great way to mark this momentous occasion.

Cllr Cotton and Cllr Robertshaw joined pupils from Lees Primary School as part of their Eco Day on Tuesday 21st May. They took part in planting and a litter pick in Cross Roads park. All aiming to improve our fabulous community and the area we live.
Well done to everyone from Lees Primary School, all you hard work is really making a difference.

At the Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday 20th March 2024, David Robertshaw was welcomed onto the Parish Council filling the vacancy which occurred when Marion Aston stepped down. David has been involved in the Village Association and his knowledge of Cross Roads is an asset to the Parish Council.

More than 10,000 residents have now signed my petition calling on Bradford Council to scrap their disastrous plans to close our Golden Butts and Sugden End tips.
“A HUGE thank you to all who have signed and shared my petition
” Robbie Moore
We are clear that should these plans go ahead, there will be disastrous consequences for fly-tipping in our community.
Local people have spoken. Now, it’s Bradford Council’s turn to LISTEN.

This is just to let you know that we are ready when they are on the move. At the moment it is too cold although there are always a few that try their luck ahead of the main surge. Often they don’t make it. This has already been the case this year. Currently we are keeping an eye on all 4 local sites and the night time temperatures and we do expect large numbers to move in the next week or two.
In this area the 4 sites are:
Brow Top Road – site number 967 Crossroads
Black Moor Road – ” ” 918
Dimples Lane – ” ” 917 Haworth
Denholme Road – ” ” 713 Oxenhope
Hazard and Risk Assessments have been completed for all sites. All volunteers are registered with Froglife for insurance purposes.
Only adults will patrol your 2 sites.
We have now done 3 sessions of litter picking along Brow Top Road. We will try to do at least one more. The amount of litter is appalling. Being an eyesore is saddening and annoying but on another level it is detrimental to wildlife, not least the amphibians.
We have been concerned about the amount of water collecting on Brow Top Road where a stream flowing from the south was pooling at the road edge then covering the whole road at times of continuous high rainfall. There is a conduit but it was obviously blocked. A team has been in the last week (from Bradford Council?) and cleared it out, The water literally flows again now into Sugden Reservoir. We are wondering if the toads will use it.

Please see details below with regard to the gully cleaning which is taking place across the Worth Valley from the 9th October.
Monday 9 October 2023:
Bingley Road (part of), Canberra Drive, Canberra Close, Cecil Street, Gordon Street, Albion Street, Stanley Street
(it should be noted the full length of the A6033 and A629 are due to be cleaned before the end of this year)
If you normally park on any of these streets it would be helpful if you could remove your vehicle on the 9th so the gully machine has access to all the gullys.
